The evening begins with 'Aha Pule, along with cultural protocols and presentations from Japan, Fiji, Samoa, Rapa Nui, and Tahiti. Then, the Hula Hō'ike commences, featuring hālau from around Hawai'i Island.

  • Will there be food & drinks available?
    Yes, food will be sold at the ticketed events on Friday & Saturday as well as inside the hotel on Saturday from 11am-3pm. See menu below. Alcohol and outside food or drinks are not allowed inside the event area.   • What happens if it rains?
    We’re excited for our upcoming outside events! In case of rain, don’t worry — we have the hotel ballroom ready as a backup. The Fireknife Competition will go on outside, no matter the weather! Just a heads up: the start time for the program might change a bit. If you have any questions, feel free to call 808-331-8265. Can’t wait to see you there!

    Yes!   • Where can I park?
    Event Parking is available during the weekend at the Tony Honda Kona Lot $10 for festival event ticket holders (per entry) (Proof of purchase for any of our ticketed events) $20 for non-ticket holders (per entry) CASH OR VENMO ACCEPTED ​ Lot Hours: Friday 3:30 pm - 10:30 pm Saturday 8:00 am - 10:30 pm Sunday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm ​ Event parking at the hotel is $20, and a validation sticker is required. Only credit cards are accepted; no cash!
